Paper.io 2

Paper.io 2 is an .io (light online multiplayer) game where you control a colored square that represents your “land.” The goal is to occupy as much space as possible without being “cut off” by others! It sounds simple, but it is actually a delicate battle between strategy and recklessness. One wrong move and the entire area will be gone!

How to play Paper.io 2

  • Move: Use the mouse or arrow keys to navigate the “head” of the territory.
  • Draw a line to occupy the land: When you leave the occupied area, you will leave a colored trail.
  • Complete the circle. When you connect that trail back to your area, that area will be occupied.
  • Attack: If others are drawing a line and you touch their trail, they will disappear immediately!
  • Defense: If your own trail is touched before closing the circle, you are done.

Tips and Tricks

Small but sure occupation

  • Newbie mistakes: often rush out to occupy a large area → before you can return, your tail will be cut off.
  • Smart way to play: occupy small pieces (rectangle or zigzag) and close them quickly → both safe and stable.
  • You should start with areas near the edge and slowly expand to the middle of the map.

Attack when the enemy is busy

  • When you see the enemy drawing a circle far away from the safe zone, that's the golden time to "cut the tail."
  • Cut right into its unclosed trail, and you'll finish one without having to engage directly.
  • Time it right—gentle but deadly.

Draw smart shapes

  • Drawing zigzags, small squares or rectangles helps you occupy land evenly and easily control it.
  • Avoid occupying in a "disorderly" way that makes you not know where you are and makes it difficult to turn the situation around.
  • A little logical thinking will help you control the map better.

Occupy the edges first—then move to the center

  • The edges of the map are less populated → easier to control, less likely to encounter.
  • When you are big enough, you can risk invading the center to expand.
  • The corners of the map = a safe place to practice before "going out."

The Mini map is a weapon

  • Observe the mini-map to see who is near you, who is occupying a large area, and who is easy to deal with.
  • Avoid being ambushed by surprise, and choose easy targets.
  • Victory belongs to those with vision.

Don't chase kills; the goal is to occupy land

  • Although "hunting people" sounds fun, if you only focus on attacking, you won't be able to expand much.
  • Balance between occupying and fighting.
  • The master wins by the map, not by the number of lives.
